The incident came to light on Monday when a senior citizen overheard two inebriated men quarrel. One of them alleged that the other’s son had sexually abused his daughter. The senior citizen reported the incident to police, who took the two men to the police station. The girl’s father later lodged a complaint.

According to the police, the alleged incident happened two weeks ago. The two families are from Adoni in Andhra Pradesh. They work as construction labourers in the city and reside at Ramdev Gardens in makeshift sheds.

K.G. Halli police registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. A medical examination was conducted on the girl at Dr B R Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital.
