More parents file complaints of sexual assault in Bengaluru playschool

In a development in the case of sexual assault of a child in a Bengaluru playschool, more parents have registered complaints with the Marathahalli police, stating that their children too were sexually assaulted in the school.

Police sources said six additional cases were registered on Tuesday night and the accused, school supervisor Manjunath V., was booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.The police have asked the parents to take their children for medical examination.

On Friday last, the parents of a three-and-a-half-year-old child lodged a complaint against Manjunath, stating that he had sexually assaulted their daughter, and he was arrested.

On Tuesday, the police arrested two members of the management and a staffer for failing to comply with the Karnataka State Child Protection Policy.

The school is a franchise of a well known national chain that has over 1,500 centres across 550 cities in India and Nepal.
