Plan well in advance, U.S. Consul tells students

“Plan well in advance, not only for the academic programme you chose to pursue but also for the visa process,” advised U.S. Consul Abigail Aronson to students on Friday.

Ms. Aronson, who along with a 15-member team from the U.S. Consulate, Chennai, interacted with nearly 300 students at the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology in the city.

She said those intending to study in America should start preparations at least a year ahead.

Advising students not to fall prey to middlemen or touts, the US Consulate members spoke to them on the visa application process.

Students should ensure they have all the papers when appearing for the interview, including the visa-qualifying document, financial support documents and others documents, along with the completed visa application form, the members advised.
