The Central Crime Branch sleuths on Friday raided a book store in Shivaji Nagar for allegedly selling pirated books. The sale of pirated books, some of which were of leading writers, including Dan Brown, Chetan Bhagat and Jeffrey Archer, came to light after sleuths nabbed a roadside book seller. The police have seized over 1,500 pirated books worth Rs. 4.5 lakh.

Police said that the accused Umar Farooq, Ibrahim Khaleel and Mohammed Haneef used to print the books. Police have booked a case under the Copyright Act and efforts are on to nab the accused who are on the run.
