Photo ID must for porters

Chalavadi T. Narayanaswamy, chairperson of the Passenger Amenities Committee of the Ministry of Railways, has made it mandatory for porters at all railway stations to wear photo identity card behind which should be a rate list, effective February 1.

Mr. Narayanaswamy said passengers could complain against porters who do not comply with the rate list. Railway officials can withdraw the badges of the porters found guilty of harassing passengers.
