PG counselling from August 30

Counselling for admission to postgraduate courses in Bangalore University (BU) will commence on August 30.

A press release said the omnibus merit list would be notified on the old University Law College premises on Thursday at 4 p.m. It will also be available on >www. bangaloreuniversity.ac.in

Candidates should bring any corrections to the notice of the admission committee before August 25. The final omnibus list will be notified on August 28 and first semester PG classes will commence on September 10.

BU has received 8,773 applications. Science appears to be a favourite with 4,191, followed by 3,340 for Arts and 2,764 applications for Commerce. Also, more girls have applied for PG admissions compared to boys.

Important dates

Counselling will begin for the supernumerary seats on August 30, followed by faculty of Commerce from August 31 to September 1, faculty of Law and Education on September 3, faculty of Science from September 4 to 6, faculty of Arts from September 7 to 9.
