Vehicle users across the nation should fill up the petrol tanks as petrol bunks across the country will work only 12 hours on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The petrol bunk outlets will also observe the day as ‘No Purchase Day’. If their demands are not met, they have planned to observe ‘No Purchase and No Sale Day’ on April 29.
Akhila Karnataka Federation of Petroleum Traders has extended support to the protest call given by the Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers to press the Union Government to settle various demands including revision of commission in petrol, diesel and auto LPG products.
Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, president of the AKFPT B.R. Ravindranath said 53,000 petrol bunks across the country will participate in the protest to press for various demands.
AKFPT Hon. Secretary Ranjit Hegde said different oil companies have been following draconian laws imposed on the dealers for many years. The random revision of petroleum prices should be stopped, as each outlet will give service to 3,000 to 4,000 customers every day. Sudden revision in petroleum products would affect the petroleum outlets heavily, he said.
