The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) has sought “confidential reports” on the performance of Ministers in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet as well as MLAs by February.

This was disclosed by KPCC president G. Parameshwara, who presided over a meeting of 35 District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents and 448 block presidents here on Tuesday. This comes in the wake of several office-bearers in the districts complaining of lack of cooperation from the MLAs and Ministers in carrying out development works in their constituencies. The Ministers and MLAs should have a sense of accountability, Mr. Parameshwara said. The block presidents will send their observations on the MLAs, while the DCC presidents will send observations on Ministers in sealed covers to Mr. Parameshwara. The covers will, in turn, be despatched to the AICC.

Party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi had consulted all senior Congress leaders in the State on whether there should be a change in Congress ideology for the future or whether they should continue with the existing ideology, he said.
