Pavement encroachments also obstructing way

May 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - Bengaluru:

Apart from Metro work and other construction activities within the hospital campus, pavement encroachments are also obstructing the free flow of ambulances.

Dean and Director of Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute P.K. Devdas admitted that the single entrance was causing problems. He said he had written to the BBMP to clear encroachments on the footpath near the hospital so that another gate could be set up.

“Although the BBMP cleared a stretch, some shop owners are refusing to vacate. We got a telephone booth inside the campus removed and had also started work but were forced to stop after the shop owners refused to vacate,” he said.

Write to BBMP

He said he would again write to the BBMP. “I have also written to the Metro authorities to expedite work so that the closed entrances can be opened,” Dr. Devdas said.
