The Karnataka High Court on Thursday gave permission to Jacqueline Maillé, mother of Pascal Mazurier, an employee of the French Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic service, to meet her three grandchildren on Friday.
Pascal Mazurier is facing charge of raping his minor daughter.
A Division Bench comprising Justice K.L. Manjunath and Justice Ravi Malimath passed the interim order on a contempt of court petition filed by Mr. Mazurier complaining that his wife, Suja Jones, had allegedly disobeyed the July 20, 2013 order of the Third Additional Principal Family Court, Bangalore, which had granted visitation right to his mother.
The High Court directed Ms. Suja Jones to keep her three children present before the Director, Bangalore Mediation Centre, on January 31 at 5.30 p.m.
“To avoid controversy, we are of the view that if the complainant’s mother is permitted to see her grandchildren at the Bangalore Mediation Centre, either in the presence of Director or Deputy Director, on January 31 at about 5.30 p.m. for one hour as ordered by the Family Court, we can close this case,” the Bench said.
The court directed Mr. Mazurier and his counsel, and Ms. Suja Jones and her counsel to be present at the mediation centre “to avoid unpleasantness”.
