Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that Congress high command will decide the constituency from where he will contest in the upcoming Assembly elections. He was addressing the media on the sidelines of foundation stone laying programme for various developmental works in Chikkaballapur.

Asked about the likelihood of BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa contesting from North Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramaiah said: “I have also got offers to contest from North Karnataka. However, the party high command will take a final call on this.”

Responding to allegations of irregularities against him levelled by Mr. Yeddyurappa, the Chief Minister said he was not involved in any scandals. Mr. Yeddyuarappa had no moral right to make such allegations as he is facing 15 cases, Mr. Siddaramaiah said. “Let him first answer to these charges, and then make allegations against others,” he added.

He also asked Mr. Yeddyurappa to put pressure on the Centre to waive of farm loans availed from nationalised banks.

Hebbal-Nagavar Valley

Mr. Siddaramaiah laid foundation stone for the Hebbal-Nagavar Valley project, which aims at supplying treated water to a number of tanks in Bengaluru Rural and Chickballapur districts.
