June 23, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 01:09 pm IST - BENGALURU:

Even as legislators who have been dropped from the Ministry and those representing Bengaluru city constituencies are up in arms against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes called on the former Revenue Minister and Dalit leader V. Srinivas Prasad to pacify him.

In a damage-control exercise, the party high command has despatched Mr. Fernandes to Bengaluru to quell the discontent in the party. Mr. Siddaramaiah also asked his loyalists and Ministers H.C. Mahadevappa and K.J. George to mollify the legislators dropped from the Ministry, who have been issuing public statements against him.

Sources said the Chief Minister has been making efforts to negotiate peace by calling up leaders who have been dissatisfied following the Cabinet reshuffle. Veteran leader C.K. Jaffer Sharief called on M.H. Ambareesh and discussed issues related the Cabinet reshuffle. All the discontented leaders met on Wednesday.
