The Oracle Corp team of Mitesh Agarwal and Harinarayan Yagnyeshwaran on Thursday overcame a lively competition to qualify for the finals of 14th edition of The Business Line-Cerebration Quiz contest.
The duo will take on the winners of the other regional rounds from Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkota, Mumbai and Ahmedabad in the finals to be held in Mumbai on March 30.
ING Vysya Bank team comprising Debdoot Banerjee and Samrat Mukherjee came second while Aditya Subramanian and Ankush Chakraborty of Deloitte stood third. The other three teams that fought in the regional finals were from Max Bupa, HSBC and Attra Infotech. Six teams qualified for the regional finals after a written test.
The regional round for the contest held here on Thursday saw participation of 30 teams from the corporates and business schools.
Quiz Master Lloyd Saldana conducted the quiz finals that had six rounds — Roots and Shoots (Oral Round), Windows (Visual Round), Briefly (Rapid Fire), New Manager, Perspective and Brandline. Questions included those on Bangalore business houses besides national and international economic and business related questions. The final round also saw lighter moments when participants gave hilarious answers.
Assistant General Manager of Union Bank of India S.N. Visweswara and Regional Chief of HUDCO H.T. Suresh, who were chief guests of the event, distributed the prizes.
Union Bank of India is the title sponsor while Steel Authority of India is the associate sponsor and HUDCO is the regional sponsor for the event. Lawrence and Mayo and Vimal are gift sponsors. BIG FM 92.7 is the radio sponsor for the event and the venue partner for the regional round was Hotel La Marvella.
