Households in the State are eligible for only three subsidised LPG cylinders till March 31, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. said in a press release in Bangalore Friday.
Those using Indane Gas, supplied by IndianOil, can buy as many cylinders as they want at the market rate, the company said, adding that there was no shortage. The process will be streamlined starting April, after which consumers will get six cylinders at a subsidised rate and an unlimited number at the market rate every financial year.
The Central government had announced last month its decision to cap LPG subsidies and the IndianOil announcement only clarifies the course of action for this year.
Customers have been advised to ensure that the entries of refill supplies are made by the delivery boys in the domestic gas consumer card issued by the distributors.
IndianOil distributors are also requested to accept booking requests for new cylinders from prospective customers by providing a system-generated registration number at the time of booking.
