One dead, two injured as motorcycle rams median

A 25-year-old hotel employee was killed and two riders were injured when the motorcycle, in which the three people were riding, rammed into a median after losing control near Ashoka Pillar in Jayanagar on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as William, an employee of a Hotel in Jayanagar was one of the pillion. The injured rider has been identified as Prashanth, an employee in a Hotel, and the other pillion rider is Pascal.

According to the traffic police, the accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. while the three friends were on their way to home after work.

The Wilson Garden police said that Prashanth failed to negotiate the turn and rammed into a median. Due to the impact, William, who was riding pillion, slipped on the road and sustained critical head injuries while Pascal, another pillion rider escaped with minor injuries. Prashanth too escaped with minor injuries.

The incident came to light when a passerby noticed the trio struggling for help and alerted the police who rushed to the spot and shifted William to a nearby Apollo hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Wednesday.

A case of self-accident has been registered in Wilson Garden traffic police station.
