The officials of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) busted a watch racket in Bangalore and arrested Gangaram Patel, who used to sell watches under reputed brands, on Tuesday.

According to the police, the accused Gangaram — a native of Rajasthan — used to procure spare parts of watches having fake logos of international brands from Mumbai, assemble them in Bangalore and sell them to malls and showrooms across the city for throwaway prices.

Based on a tip off, a team of CCB officials raided his residence in Vyalikaval in Bangalore and confiscated over 500 watches. The police are investigating further about his customers and sources from where he used to procure the fake spare parts.
