Three Oman nationals found themselves in a hot soup when they were detained by the HAL police on Saturday evening for “clicking photos of women swimming” in Diamond District on Old Airport Road.

The arrested have been identified as Abdullah Al Maharabhi, Al Gufali and Mohammed Saleem, brothers who had come down to the city a few days ago and were residing in a service apartment in Diamond District. The police said that the brothers had come down to visit their ailing parents, who were being treated in a private hospital on Old Airport Road.

Investigations revealed that on Saturday evening, the three had gone to the pool area where they noticed some women swimming. One of the women residents saw them clicking pictures and complained about the same to the Diamond District Residents’ Welfare Association, who approached the police.

Swinging into action, the HAL police visited the spot and conducted a probe. The police, who checked the trio’s mobile phones, found no pictures or videos of the women. They were later let off after a warning.
