After having seized several vehicles operated by shuttle aggregator ZipGo, Transport Department officials on Wednesday visited the company’s office demanding details of all driver-partners. The legal team of the company sought time till Thursday to provide the information. In the past two weeks, at least four vehicles operated by the company have been seized for violation of permit conditions. ZipGo operates shuttle services based on pre-booking on several routes that cover Bannerghatta, Jayanagar, Bellandur, Whitefield, Indiranagar and some other areas. A senior official of the Transport Department said, “They are operating on routes similar to those of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. This is a violation. They are also plying with contract carriage permits while carrying out the function of a stage carriage (stopping to pick up passengers along the route).” “We will wait till Thursday for them to furnish the registration numbers and details for all their drivers before charting the future course of action,” the official said. Attempts to speak to ZipGo co-founder Jitender Sharma were unsuccessful.
