For those of you in a hurry to reach the United Kingdom, the Home Office on Monday announced the same day visa service for those travelling from South India.

The super priority visa service will be available to those applying for a six-month to a two-year multiple entry visit visa (excluding student visitors), who have previously travelled to the U.K., U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country within the last five years, a note from the British High Commission said.

Sponsors

It is also available for visa applicants sponsored by companies, who are members of our Business Express Programme, it said.

The service has been extended to south India after its success in Delhi and Mumbai.

Optional

The new service is optional and incurs an additional fee of £600 (Rs. 57,000 at current rate), plus the standard fee for the type of visa being applied for. Applicants must complete an online form and submit their applications, by appointment, before 9.30 a.m. at the Visa Application Centre in Chennai and this applies to those outside Chennai as well, it added.

Customers using this service will have their passport and decision returned by 5.30 p.m. the same day.

Further information about the fees, eligibility criteria and how to schedule an appointment is available at http://vfs-uk-in.com/additionalservice. html.
