Officials of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) nabbed a 24-year-old man from Pune, Maharastra, and recovered 900 gm of gold chains worth Rs. 27 lakh from him.

The accused Haider Syed Noor Irani is part of the notorious gang from Iran, who created havoc in the city with their series of chain snatching, robberies and attention diversion.

The accused Haider confessed that had robbed around 25 women in various parts of the city, including four in Jnanabharati, three in Banasawadi, four in Chandra Layout, two cases each in Hanumanth Nagar, Subramanyapura and HSR Layout and one case each in Sanjay Nagar, Vijaya Nagar, Vidyaranyapura, Varthur, Yeshwanthpura, Amruthalli, Adugodi and Koramangala police station limits.
