No COMEDK test for medical course

There will be no UGET of the COMEDK for admissions to private medical and dental colleges, scheduled for Sunday. However, entrance exam for admission to private engineering colleges will be held as scheduled, according to COMEDK Chief Executive A.S. Srikanth.

COMEDK officials said the Supreme Court’s order on Friday makes it clear that private associations cannot hold any exam.

As many as 1.01 lakh of the total 1.79 lakh who have registered for the UGET are aspirants of medical or dental seats. The COMEDK UGET was supposed to be conducted for 708 medical and dental seats in 12 medical and 19 dental colleges.

Sunday’s exam will now be held only for the 18,000 engineering seats in 161 engineering colleges.
