No clarity on fee refund

May 08, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - BENGALURU:

With COMEDK deciding to cancel the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) for medical and dental courses, many students are wondering if their application fees would be refunded.

Many students expressed the frustration on the issue on social media too. COMEDK authorities, however, pointed out that the students had been told at the time of applying that the application fee is non-refundable. The fees for students who applied for all four subjects (PCMB) was Rs. 1,500, while those writing three subjects (excluding biology) had paid Rs. 1,200.

“We had booked slots in colleges for computers, deployed supervisors and incurred a lot of expenditure. We have to calculate the expenditure and place it before the board. If there is money that is not spent, it would be given back to students,” a COMEDK official said.
