Nine killed in accident near Bidar

Nine persons, including a six-year-old, died and a seven-year-old girl was injured in a head-on collision between a car and a tanker on the Solapur-Machilipattanam National Highway in Humnabad taluk in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased included six men, two women and a child. The seven-year-old girl who suffered injuries has been admitted to the hospital.

Those traveling by car were members of a family from Shahapur village in Solapur district in Maharashtra on a pilgrimage to Tirupati.

The tanker was going from Hyderabad to Solapur. A case has been registered in the Humnabad Police Station.
