Next session in Bengaluru, says Speaker

Work on renovating the Legislative Assembly Hall in the Vidhana Soudha, taken up at a cost of Rs. 17 crore, will be completed by mid-January, Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa said here on Monday.

Speaking after inspecting the renovation work, the Speaker said the next joint session of the legislature, scheduled to be held in January, will be in Bengaluru and not in Belagavi as reported by a section of the media.

Pointing out that the renovation includes civil works at a cost of Rs. 5 crore and electrical work at Rs. 12 crore, the Speaker said he was satisfied with the quality of work.
