New VC for Bangalore University

Higher Education Minister C.T. Ravi on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of B. Thimme Gowda, Professor of Chemistry, Mangalore University, as the Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University.

Speaking to presspersons here after presenting certificates to Scout & Guides in a ceremony, Mr. Ravi said the Governor, who is the Chancellor of Universities, has issued the order to this effect.

He said Prof. Gowda was one of the few eminent scholars in the State and deserved the position. The new vice chancellor has onerous responsibility on him to set things right at Bangalore University, Mr. Ravi said.
