Namma Metro users alighting at the City Railway Station will now be able to purchase unreserved railway tickets from a new counter which has been set up near the Metro Station on Platform No. 10 side of the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru station.
The ticket counter, inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru, Sanjiv Agarwal, on Tuesday, will be a temporary counter which will help those alighting from the Metro. At the launch of the underground section, there was initial confusion for commuters as those alighting from the Metro station were caught and fined by Railway officials for entering the railway station without tickets.
“This is a makeshift arrangement and a permanent counter will be set up at a convenient location once the skywalk linking the metro station with KSR Bengaluru Railway Station on Platform No. 10 side is completed,” Mr. Agarwal said.
Tickets will be issued in this counter from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. coinciding with the working hours of Metro trains.
