Peenya Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing two girls of seven and ten years of age, children of his neighbour’s family. The incident occurred on Saturday evening and the accused Murthy was arrested on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Mallasandra, Peenya, when Murthy lured the two girls to his house on the promise of giving them biscuits and showing a film. Sources said that he made the 10-year-old girl sit in front of television and took the younger girl to a room, stripped her and fondled her. He later abused the elder girl as well. The incident came to light when the girls narrated the incident to their grandmother.

The girls’ parents lodged a complaint with Peenya Police following which Murthy was arrested. Medical examination of the two girls has prima facie confirmed sexual abuse, police said.
