January 02, 2014 11:53 pm | Updated May 13, 2016 06:46 am IST - BANGALORE:

Over 30 passengers travelling in a Volvo bus had a close shave after the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed a roadside hotel on Hosur Road on the city’s outskirts on Thursday morning, the police said.

This incident comes just a month after two Volvo bus accidents charred 52 people to death in all and injuring several others.

The Attibele police who have seized the vehicle, said that the bus belonging to SRS Travels was travelling from Chennai to Bangalore. According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle around 4.55 a.m. and hit the median, and then veered toward the right side of the road where it rammed a roadside hotel. Fortunately, no one was in the hotel as it was early morning and none of the passengers were injured.

The front of the bus was completely damaged.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the driver and are investigating.
