The taxi aggregator service floated by drivers, Namma TYGR, which was set for an August 31 launch will be delayed till the end of September. The service, expected to take on cab aggregators such as Ola and Uber by offering fixed fares and easy availability of cabs, still needs some fine-tuning before launch, say its founders.
“While we were testing the app, we discovered some bugs. These have to be ironed out over the next few days. Our office premises is also getting the final touches and we should be ready for onboarding drivers in the next 10 days. After this, we will launch the service,” said Tanveer Pasha, one of the directors of Huli technologies, which will offer the Namma TYGR brand.
The service was proposed in June this year by disgruntled drivers who formed an union and protested against the established aggregators, accusing them of decreasing benefits and pushing drivers into financial trouble. The app platform is being developed with the help of Savetur, the technology startup that owns the TYGR app. The app will be modified for local operations.
