Former minister Nafees Fazal had been in the Congress since the Seventies.

Nafees Fazal, who was a minister in the cabinet of S.M. Krishna, has resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party. She has been in the party since the late Seventies.

Mr. Krishna recently quit the Congress and joined the BJP.

In a letter to AICC President Sonia Gandhi, she said that ‘she has been humiliated by the State Muslims leaders as the Chief Minister was new to the party and gave them a free hand’. She added that central leaders have no time to hear the grievances of party workers and ‘have an attitude’.

“For reasons best known to you, I was unable to get an appointment to meet you and share my grievances with you,” she wrote.
