A.S. Patil Nadahalli, suspended MLA from Devarahipparagi constituency in Vijayapura district, is likely to be expelled from the Congress for repeatedly embarrassing the party by indulging in anti-party activities.
On Saturday, the MLA attended the JD(S) legislature party meeting in Mysuru. Earlier, he campaigned for JD(S) candidates during elections to taluk and zilla panchayats.
A few months ago, Mr. Nadahalli had been suspended from attending the Congress Legislature Party meetings.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president and Home Minister G. Parameshwara said the party would take stern action against Mr. Nadahalli, who has been repeatedly indulging in anti-party activities. The MLA had criticised the Siddaramaiah government for releasing insufficient grants to complete irrigation projects in north Karnataka.
A few months ago, the Congress expelled former MP, K. Jayaprakash Hegde, for contesting as a rebel from the Udupi-Dakshina Kannada Local Bodies Constituency for Legislative Council.
