Mystery surrounds the death of Kannada television actor Hemashree (38) who was brought dead to a hospital here Tuesday.
According to the police, her husband, Surendra Babu, said the couple was driving to Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh when Hemashree developed convulsions, suffered head injuries and collapsed.
Mr. Babu then rushed her to Baptist Hospital in Hebbal where doctors declared her brought dead. “When she was brought to the casualty, her body had already [in rigor mortis ]. This means she would have died six to eight hours before she was brought to the hospital,” a staff member in the casualty ward told The Hindu . Not convinced by Mr. Babu’s conflicting statements, the Channamanakere Achkattu police took him into custody for questioning.
