The Baiyappanahalli railway police have cracked a murder case which was initially suspected to be a case of accidental death. They have arrested a woman for the murder of her husband, with the accomplice being her paramour.
According to railway police sources, the accused woman was identified as Kadeeramma (42), and her aide Govindappa (36), both residents of Nakkanayakanahalli in Bangarpet of Kolar district.
They had murdered Venkataswamy (50), Kadeeramma’s husband, who had objected to his wife’s illicit affair.
On June 2, Venkataswamy’s body was discovered on the railway tracks at Bisanattham railway station near Marikuppam. Suspecting it to be an accidental death, police began a probe. The victim’s elder brother Ayyappaiya suspected Kadeeramma’s role behind the death.
“We found her behaviour casual and suspicious. She was picked up for questioning and she soon confessed to the murder. She revealed that Govindappa was living in the adjacent house with his wife and their two children. Govindappa and she were in a relationship for the last four years. Recently, Venkataswamy learnt about this and had warned both to stay away from each other,” the police said.
Based on information provided by Kadeeramma, Govindappa was arrested. The woman and the man have been booked for murder and were remanded to judicial custody.
