Motorist killed in road accident

A 24-year-old motorist was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down on K.R. Puram Ring Road on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sameer Sarkar, a native of West Bengal and a carpenter by profession. He was heading towards K.R. Puram from Marathahalli along with his brother who was riding pillion when the mishap occurred.

Around, 12.30 a.m., the deceased was on Outer Ring Road when a speeding unknown vehicle, in a bid to overtake the motorists, rammed into the two-wheeler and sped away from the spot. While Sameer sustained severe injuries his brother escaped with minor injuries.

Few onlookers rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where Sameer was declared as brought dead. A case has been registered with K.R. Puram Traffic Police.
