A wooden log fell from atop the Namma Metro construction site at Gorguntepalya on Monday injuring a passing by motorcyclist on Monday morning. The injured motorcyclist has been rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be progressing.

Angry road users halted the work at the Namma Metro site demanding safety measures be put in place immediately. Monday’s mishap comes close on the heels of the tragic death of a Metro worker after a six tonne metal beam fell on him when a crane lifting it overturned near Peenya worksite on Sunday.

The motor cyclist, whose name is not yet revealed sustained injuries on his hands and shoulder. The RMC Yard police rushed to the spot and began investigating the cause of the construction mishap. Namma Metro had come in for criticism recently for not following the mandatory safety procedures for workers.
