MLC’s car rams motorcycle, two students injured

Two students were injured when a government car belonging to Ramachandra Gowda, BJP MLC, rammed their motorcycle, near Ulsoor lake, on Saturday evening.

Rohit and Manu, both 21, computer science diploma students in MVK College in Channasandra, were on their way back from Malleswaram when they met with the accident.

The car, with Mr. Gowda, a friend and his gunman in it, was coming from Indiranagar when it hit the two-wheeler on Murphy Road.

Manu, riding pillion, sustained a leg fracture while Rohit escaped with light injuries.

Both were admitted to Chinmaya Mission Hospital.

The police have registered a case against the driver, Harish.

Mr. Gowda told The Hindu the lights were amber on both sides of the signal and both vehicles moved.

“The boys were immediately taken to hospital and I have already paid their hospital expenses. One of them is to have a minor operation and I have made arrangements for that as well.”

Muthathi drowning

A Bangalorean who went on a trip with his friends drowned in the Cauvery at Muthathi in Mandya district on Saturday morning.

Subramanyanagar resident Raichand alias Babu (35), an autorickshaw driver, was wading in the water when he slipped and was washed away.
