Speaker summons Anand Singh

April 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - BENGALURU:

Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa has summoned Anand Singh, BJP MLA, to his office on Friday to verify whether he had resigned from the membership of the Assembly on his own or on some compulsion. Mr. Singh had tendered his resignation through DIG Prisons, citing that he was not able to concentrate on work in his Vijayanagar constituency in Ballari district.

Mr. Singh is in the central jail on the outskirts of the city after being arrested by the Special Investigation Team of the Lokayukta that is investigating illegal mining cases. — Special Correspondent
