The body a seven-year-old boy, who had been missing since Sunday, was found in a pit at an under-construction multi-storey residential complex in Rachenahalli on Tuesday.

Police identified the boy as Narasimha Murthy, son of Muniraju, a waterman working for BBMP.

Narasimha Murthy had gone out to play on Sunday afternoon but had not returned. The worried family members searched for him in all possible places, and when their search went in vain they launched a missing complaint with the police.

Workers at an under-construction multi-storey residential complex site noticed the floating body in the pit on Tuesday and alerted the police. The police said that the pit had been dug up for carrying out electricity grounding work and was full of rain water.
