The Sanjay Nagar police reportedly cracked the murder of a security guard within 24 hours of the incident and arrested a minor in connection with the case.
The deceased Mahalingappa (35) allegedly had an affair with a relative of the fifteen-year-old boy, who hails from Gulbarga and works as a construction labourer in the city.
The boy warned Mahalingappa to keep away but when he did not, he followed the latter while he was returning home from work and attacked him with a wooden plank. Mahalingappa collapsed and died due to excessive bleeding from a blow on the head.
The Sanjay Nagar police said that during investigation, they came to know the boy was absconding. They tracked him down and he reportedly confessed to the crime.
The boy would be produced before the Child Welfare Committee for further legal procedure, the police said.
