Minister for Health and Family Welfare and district in-charge K.R. Ramesh Kumar launched the tanks’ rejuvenation scheme at Narasapur tank on Sunday.

The scheme is part of the Koramangala-Challaghatta Valley sewage water treatment project which intends filling of 126 tanks in undivided Kolar district.

Eight tanks in various taluks were chosen for the cleaning operation in the first phase, he said and added that 2.4 acre land near Bellandur in Bengaluru had been identified for recycling the water. Pumping stations would be established at Narsapur, Shivarapatna, Jannaghatta and Holali. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs. 1,342 crore.
