The State government has invited President Pranab Mukherjee to launch the initiative at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center.

The initiative, a first in the country, will cover 4,000 government services. Mobile governance is expected to expedite the process of redressing complaints.

M-governance includes information services as well as services involving actual transactions, an official told The Hindu .

The government has identified some services as pilot projects for m-governance.

They include Sakala services, BSNL landline and mobile bill payments, traffic alert service and pending traffic fine payments, utility services such as electricity and water, and employees applying for leave.
