The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stopped a train for three minutes on the Peenya line on Thursday morning after a juvenile kite fell on the tracks.

Last Friday, the Metro had stopped a train for five minutes in Mantri Square station, Malleswaram, as a fledgling kite had been found near the power lines.

Vasantha Rao, General Manager (Finance), BMRCL, said fledglings fall on the tracks as there are trees nearby where they nest. Now is also the breeding season for them.

When asked about a way of preventing birds from falling on tracks, he said BMRCL was thinking of a method to stop them from coming near the tracks.
