Metro rail goes on track tomorrow

The much awaited “Namma Metro”, a mode of transport to ease traffic congestion in this IT hub, is all set for commercial operations, with its inauguration scheduled for Thursday.

Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi will flag off the train in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda at the inaugural function in Bangalore.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) will run the services initially on a seven-km stretch metro rail from Mahatma Gandhi road to Byyappanahalli from morning to late evening.
