Mayor S.K. Nataraj on Wednesday inspected the Kaggadasapura lake in C.V. Raman Nagar Assembly Constituency along with MLA S. Raghu.

Taking note of the dumping of debris, construction material and mud in a portion of the lake, he immediately summoned the area tahsildar and directed him to fence the 42-acre water body.

Stressing the importance of lakes, the Mayor said they were an integral part of the city. The lake fencing was a Rs. 1 crore project, for which Mr. Raghu has sanctioned money from his MLA Fund.

“We will sanction more funds after the Budget is approved. We will try to include it in the Budget, which will be presented after the the Standing Committees are constituted,” he said.
