Maudany leaves for Kerala

March 10, 2013 09:26 am | Updated November 28, 2021 09:27 pm IST - Bangalore:

Abdul Nasir Maudany, one of the accused in the Bangalore serial blasts case, left the Bangalore Central Prison on Saturday evening after the Special Trial Court permitted him to attend his daughter’s wedding under police security.

Officials said the PDP leader boarded a flight at 6.30 p.m. from the Bengaluru International Airport to travel to Kollam for the March 10 wedding.

Mr. Maudany had sought parole from March 8 to 12 to attend his daughter’s wedding and also to visit his ailing father.

There were reports of some delay at the airport due to objections over Mr. Maudany travelling with armed security, but officials refused to comment.

Senior police officials insisted there was no problem.
