The city police have launched a massive manhunt for serial rapist Jaishankar, who escaped from the Bangalore central prison by scaling a 30-ft.-high wall in the wee hours of Monday.

Apart from sounding high alert at the entry and exit points of the city, the police are also searching for him in hotels, lodges and isolated places, where he could have taken shelter.

Since Jaishankar sustained severe injuries during the escape, hospitals, clinics and even quacks operating in and around the city have been alerted to look out for him.

Additional Commissioner of Police ( Law and Order), Kamal Pant said that Jaishankar is likely to have sustained bleeding injuries on his sole due to piercing of glass shards laid on the wall, besides injuries on his forearms and other parts of his body.

Mr. Pant said those running clinics, nursing homes and hospitals should inform the nearest police station or control room if they have any information about him.
