A 43-year-old driver was arrested on Friday for bludgeoning his physically challenged younger brother to death over property row. He later filed a complaint with the Parappana Agrahara police.
The accused Thimmaraju, a resident of Parappana Arahara, would fight with his younger brother, V. Venkatesh frequently over the ancestral property. Venkatesh was using the property documents as mortgage to get money to meet his personal expenses.
On March 1, 2015, Thimmaraju’s family confronted Venkatesh over the issue following which Venkatesh abused the family members and threatened to file a complaint against them.
Enraged by this, Thimmaraju bludgeoned Venkatesh to death and dumped the body in Rayasandra Lake with the help of a friend. The next day, Parappana Agrahara police officials found the body. Following the discovery of the body, Thimmaraju filed a false complaint with the police to nab the murderers of his brother.
The Parappana Agrahara police, during the course of investigations, stumbled upon the information that the brothers would have frequent fights over property and had a fight even the day before the murder.
Based on suspicion, the police picked up Thimmaraju for questioning. A detailed questioning led him to confess to the crime, the police said.
