An autorikshaw driver and a mason were found murdered in separate incidents in the city on Sunday .

Sridhar (26), an auto driver and a resident of Jamboo Savari Dinne, was allegedly clubbed to death by his friend following a drunken brawl on Kothanur Dinne Main Road. The police arrested the accused Venkatesh (26), a cab driver.

According to the police, Sridhar had gone to a bar in Kothanur Dinne along with his friend. He allegedly had an altercation with the bar staff and came out and started abusing them. Meanwhile, Venkatesh, who had visited another bar in the same locality, was walking towards home and found his friend abusing the bar suppliers. Venkatesh tried to pacify Sridhar but he vented his ire on Venkatesh accusing him of supporting the bar staff.

However, when Venkatesh started walking, Sridhar confronted him again and abused Venkatesh. Enraged by this, Venkatesh allegedly picked up a wooden log and beat up Sridhar. He sustained severe head injuries and collapsed following which he was rushed to a nearby clinic and later to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said.

In another incident, a mason was stabbed to death by unidentified men near Sandalwood Studio at Thanisandra Village in Sampigehalli on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Vali Basha (35), a native of Bellary. Basha had come to the city about two years ago.

Police said Basha returned home from work on Sunday and left home around 5 p.m. to get kerosene from a nearby shop.

Around 7.30 pm, some of his neighbours noticed him lying at a vacant plot in front of Sandalwood Studio with stab injuries on his chest.

They immediately informed his wife who rushed him to a hospital, where he succumbed.
