Man found dead with dog bites

A 50-year-old man’s body bearing multiple dog bite marks was found on the footpath on Mysore Road in Bangalore on Sunday morning.

The man identified as Mari Ramaiah, who was believed to be an alcoholic, was last seen by his relative in an inebriated state on the footpath in front of a bakery on Mysore Road on Saturday night. The latter gave him some money to eat and left.

But, on Sunday morning, passers-by noticed Ramaiah body’s with multiple injuries and informed the police. The JJ Nagar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem.

“We found dog bites all over his body. But, we are not sure the whether the dogs attacked him before or after he died. We are waiting for the post-mortem report,” said the JJ Nagar police said.

Ramaiah was homeless. Residents and shop-keepers on Mysore Road said that he used to do odd jobs for alcohol.

Murdered

A 33-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband over a domestic row in Vijayapura here on Sunday.

The woman identified as Anita was a labourer. She was married for the last eight years to Keshav, also a construction worker.

According to the police, Anita and Keshav used to have frequent fights.

On Saturday night, the couple had a fight and in a fit of rage, Keshav hit her with a wooden piece. Anita died on the spot, the police said.
