Man found dead in well in Shivajinagar

A man, whose identity is yet to be established, was found dead in a well in Russel Market in Shivajinagar here on Saturday.

The police suspect that he was trying to fetch water from a well when he slipped and met watery grave. The deceased is said to be aged around 40.

The incident came to light when some passersby noticed the body floating in the well and informed the police. Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The well is inside the parking space opposite Russell Market, and the water from the well was used for watering plants. The well was covered with a wired mesh but it is being checked how he moved the mesh and was trying to fetch water. Shivajinagar police are investigating .
